Elfi Schaefer-Schafroth, Choreographer/Dancer
has presented her work in New York, San Diego, Mexico, Germany, Austria, throughout Switzerland, and at various dance festivals in Europe, the United States and Mexico. Following her degree in sports studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), she studied dance at the Zurich School of Dance Theatre (Zuerich Tanztheaterschule), at UCSD, in New York and Paris. In addition to her theater work, she collaborates in interdisciplinary projects for museums, theaters, churches and art galleries, and teaches at the College of Teachers Education (PHZH) in Zurich. In 1995, she was invited as a choreographer to the International Choreographers Residency at the American Dance Festival. In 2002, she was awarded a “Werkbeitrag” by the City of Zurich. In 2004, she was mentioned by Jennifer Dunning in the “Year of Culture 2004” in the New York Times.
Jochen Heinrich, Director
worked from 1991 to 1995 as an author, dramatist and/or director for the choreographers Tatjana Orlob and Norbert Servos, with whom he founded the 'TanzLabor' in Berlin. In 1993, TanzLabor joined the Academy of Art (Akademie der Kuenste) in Berlin-Brandenburg in a partnership. Ten productions including "In Between", "Images", "ir", "olfacts", "solo-solo", "Events in a dense fog" and "Songs" have been produced in this environment and premiered at the Hebbel Theater in Berlin, the Akademie der Kuenste and various festivals (e.g. Banc d'essai 1993, Tanzplattform Germany in Berlin '94, in Frankfurt '96, Springdance Utrecht/NL, Dance Week Zagreb/Croatia, Sparks Klaipeda Litauen, Theatro Dimitri, Goethe-Institut/Tunis). Jochen Heinrich has been working with Elfi Schaefer-Schafroth and Martin Schaefer in the Tanzprojekt since 1996 and directed millefeuille, noa, amourire and Lichtungen. He studied biochemistry in Tuebingen and Berlin in Germany and is currently researching in the field of tumor biology and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) at the University of Zurich.
Martin Schaefer, Setdesign
The designer Martin Schaefer studied product and interior design at the Schule fuer Gestaltung in Zurich and founded his own design business in 1981. Since 1991, Martin has been responsible for thedesign and production of stage sets for the Tanzprojekt Elfi Schaefer-Schafroth in collaboration with Werner Hartmann, Regula Guhl, David Howard, and Paula Lansley.
Andrea Isler, International Relations
Andrea Isler is a Senior HR Director and Strategic Advisor with profound organizational and change management expertise. She advises international and domestic clients across multiple industries on HR and transformation issues. Andrea was a Managing Director and Member of the General Management Committee within the financial industry. She led a wide variety of teams and worked in Switzerland, UK, across Europe, US and Asia.
